“It was a such difficult summer,” he said. “That particular conversation, I didn’t set her up with producers. They were already doing pick-up filming after we wrapped that last day and knew we weren’t in a good place and knew we’d have to talk on camera one way or another. According to Carl, he “didn’t walk in wanting to end” their relationship.

“But, the falling-out of it all from that day was what made it,” the Bravo star recalled. “I didn’t process what was going to happen after we had that conversation. Within an hour of that, it was on the internet that we had broken up. I went down the street to a hotel to get some space, I stayed in the hotel that night and the next morning, I got a text from her friends saying, ‘Hey, if you want to get some stuff from the apartment, [come by].’”

Carl was ultimately joined by a producer to pick up his belongings before jetting off to the airport to visit his parents in Pittsburgh.

According to Carl, he went into that Summer House season still planning the big day.

“Like, the amount of money we invested in all of it. I missed the cancellation for our wedding to get a full refund by seven days,” Carl alleged. “I wasn’t thinking about canceling anything other than trying to get on the same page with her. Had I been about seven days sooner, I would have saved around $150,000. But, that wasn’t in my brain. I was just trying to land the plane with her.”
